Begin.

Just start.

Take the first step.

Pick one thing risk you’ve been considering for a while. Then just take the first step. Don’t wait. After you finish reading this, just start. One simple step.

Initiative.

It earns you respect from others, but more importantly, from yourself. The surprising thing: when you take that first step in a mentally risky endeavor, it’s no big deal. What we usually anticipated as difficult or scary was all in our minds.

Believe in yourself.

It’s okay to be scared, but don’t use that as an excuse for not taking that first step. It’s never okay to fail due to a lack of effort.

Hey, you’ve got to believe in something, so believe in yourself. That’s always a good bet. Keep taking those first steps and, guess what? You wake up one day with a newfound confidence in yourself. It’s the magic of compound interest applied to human behavior.

Begin.

German writer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was right when he told us: “begin it – boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.”

Choose something, give it a shot. See what happens.

Luck does indeed favor your boldness.
